Academies

ACADEMIES OF BELTON

Like many districts across the country, the Belton School District in Missouri is transitioning its traditional high school to an academy model. The Academies of Belton offer a number of pathways for students to choose from with the goal of personalizing their education.

Real-World Learning

Our programs offer extensive real-world contact with adults currently working in the field or area of interest, and they enable students to earn dual enrollment and/or articulated college-level credits while still in high school.

FORD NGL FRAMEWORK

The Belton School District is working within the Ford Next Generation Learning (Ford NGL) framework to transform Belton High School. The Framework is comprised of three distinct, but interconnected strands, which enable the community to design and carry out the plan. The Ford NGL framework outlines a process that involves all community stakeholders.

CAREER ACADEMIES

All Belton High School students choose one of three career academies to join for grades 10-12. Each Academy operates as a school within a school, which serves to better support the academic, social, and emotional needs of every student.

Yeneli, a senior at Belton High School, was chosen to participate in the esteemed KC BizFest program. KC BizFest is an intensive and competitive opportunity for high schoolers to develop essential life skills and business acumen.

STAR Students Advance in Battle of the Brains Competition

Battle of the Brains is Kansas City's thrilling K-12 STEM competition, where schools earn grants for STEM education by dreaming up innovative exhibit concepts for Science City. The competition sparks creativity, encourages collaboration, and provides a no-cost, immersive experience for students and teachers. The competition received more than 700 proposals, but these students came out on top.

As finalists, they even earned a grant for their program!

Belton High School Students Earn Spots in All-State Choirs and Bands

Belton School District #124 high school band and choir students competed against students from schools throughout the state to earn positions in the All-State bands and choirs.
