The Belton School district is fully accredited by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. For 2003-04 and 2004-05, the district was Accredited with Distinction by the department -- the highest academic rating issued.

The Belton School District programs and services are broad based and include child care, Parents as Teachers, early childhood education (regular and special) inc-district and out-district special education, gifted and talented education, vocational education, guidance and career counseling, and more. A "day treatment" program is operated in the district in conjunction with Ozanam. The Belton School District has recently been recognized at the national and state levels for several exemplary programs.
